Flawssom/Artist
My artist name is Flawssom, which is a combination of three words: Flawed, awesome, blossom. I am flawed, but made an awesome blossom in Christ Jesus!
I live in Hot Springs, Arkansas with my husband, Shane. We’ve been married 28 years & we have a daughter who is 21 years old. I work in the health field and Shane is a youth minister. My hobbies include crafting, mostly crocheting. I also like to garden herbs and do some wild foraging. This year I’ve gotten back into writing and recording Christian music – more on that below.
When I was about a year old my biological parents were no longer able to care for me. I lived in several different states with different family until I was three when I was adopted by my grandfather. My adoptive family raised me in the church surrounded by music. Because of my early “adventures” in life with family, I had a hurt, abandoned hole in my heart. Even in a room filled with people I could feel completely isolated and misunderstood. When I was a teen, I began to see that God loves me and wants me in HIS family! I am adopted, an heir in the Kingdom because of the blood of Jesus. I have a very big family called the Church. Praise the Lord!
One way the Lord spoke to my heart was through Christian music. Early in my faith journey, I asked God to give me Christian music. It was a time when Christian radio was not what it is today & access to music about Jesus was harder to access. Anyway, in a year’s time different people had independently given me over 50 different Christian tapes (I’m aging myself 😊) of Christian music including praise & worship.
When I was in school, I began to write & record. Through a miracle I met a sound engineer who had a studio. A great friend joined me, and we released two albums in the late 90s early 2000s under the name “Manna4Missions.” Then life got in the way. Although I worked in different churches as a music minister, I did not write or record much for a long while. In 2023, I was convicted that I was not using the talents God has given me. I had buried them in the ground. But, with God’s grace he reminded me that He was still answering my prayer, giving me Christian music – as a writer & artist! So, I have been writing & recording again with the prayers others are blessed with the messages the Lord is giving.
